How Does Chin Augmentation Work?

Chin augmentation surgery, or “genioplasty,” does more than add volume to your chin; it enhances your jawline and creates harmony among your features. This custom procedure involves an incision beneath the chin. A custom chin implant is then fitted around the chin structure to add volume and projection, for a more proportionate face.

Anesthesia options

Chin augmentation requires anesthesia, which may be local with intravenous sedation, or general anesthesia. Chin augmentation is an outpatient procedure. After it is completed, you will be released to an adult caregiver to transport you home, as you will be unable to drive due to the lingering effects of anesthesia.

We care for you, from start to finish.

Every detail of your aftercare is provided to you. We will see you for follow-up appointments to ensure you are healing quickly and correctly. The healing process takes a few weeks to months. And as the swelling fades, your new look is revealed – with your new chin shape a lovely enhancement for your features.

Recovery time – how long will it take to see the results?

Your chin will be bandaged for a day or two, with a compression garment to limit any swelling.
